Creative Europe/MEDIA: Co-producing beyond Europe
For the first time Creative Europe/MEDIA includes support to international co-production funds, that have the aim of supporting co-productions with countries that are not members of the MEDIA sub-programme. In 2014 five funds were selected for support, which are now launching their new co-production programmes: Hubert Bals Fund +Europe , Torino Film Lab Distribution, World Cinema Fund Europe, IDFA Bertha Fund Europe and Sarajevo City of Film Fund.
The European Commission will explain what the EU hopes to achieve by giving support to these funds. A panel composed of producers, sales agents, co-production funds and other professionals will discuss how these goals can be achieved, and what Europe can expect to get "in return" for the support to these co-production funds.
The co-production funds supported will also briefly present their new funding opportunities, and will be available for questions after the debate.
The conference is organised in the framework of International Film Festival Rotterdam's (IFFR) Co-producing Beyond Europe day and is hosted by the European Commission in cooperation with CineMart and Creative Europe Desk NL | DutchCulture.
