International visitor: Nadezhda Bakuradze (RUS)

From 1 to 5 February, Nadezhda Bakuradze is visiting the Netherlands for preparing a Dutch focus at the Kansk International Video Festival
Date(s)
Monday 1 - Friday 5 February 2016

The first edition of the annual Kansk International Video Festival took place in 2002. Kansk is a small Siberian town, 4500 km from Moscow. The festival promotes new names of independent and uncompromising video and filmmakers, new genres, new cinema trends.

Nadezhda Bakuradze is the festival's artistic director and programmer. The festival focusses both on international experimental film productions and supports a young generation of Russian video artists and filmmakers working on the border of cinematography and contemporary art.

For 2016, the festival organisation plans to present a special programme with films, lectures and workshops focusing on Dutch architecture. During her visit to the Netherlands in the framework our our International Visitors' Programme, Bakuradze will do research on the crossovers between film, contemporary art and architecture that should eventually lead to a programme during the next edition of the festival in August 2016.

For more information about this programme, please contact Ruben Eijkelenberg, advisor Russia.
