Lego Lima at Pulchri
Lego Lima was born in Ouro Preto, Brazil. She lives and works in the Netherlands since 1992. Her very authentic and expressive work was enthusiastically received by art critics and was awarded both in the Netherlands and in Brazil. She won the most prestigious Brazilian prize for engravings, the price of the Biennale of Curitiba.
Lego Lima has exhibited her work in Brazil, the Netherlands, Belgium, Slovenia, the USA and Japan. Recent highlights were exhibitions at the Museum of Modern Art in Campinas, Brazil, and in Museum de Wieger in Deurne, the Netherlands.
The great expressive power and the unique lines in her engravings are the two elements that are mentioned in almost all articles about her work. This first element, the expressive power, is a direct result of the passion with which Lima Lego works. Playing with lines - unexpected, playful and very original – is the signature of Lego Lima.
One of her works, Dansa de Lansa, was selected for the Ilse Boon Grafiekprijs. You can see her work at the Pulchri-exhibition in Den Haag untill the 13th of January 2013.
