Dutch documentary maker Heddy Honigmann made a documentary on Brazilians' relationship with the erotic poetry of Carlos Drummond de Andrade (1902-1987), and to their own sexuality. 'O Amor Natural' is named after the eponymous and famous work of Andrade.

Heddy Honingmann is inspired by the erotic poetry of this Brazilian poet. During his life, Drummond was considered one of the most important Latin American poets of this century, but only after his death 'O amor natural', was published. Initially, because the poet thought his poems were too shocking, later because he felt that they would be considered pornographic.

In this documentary a number of elderly Brazilians read clips of Drummond's verses. With great tenderness they react to Drummond's candid descriptions and reminisce about their own sexual adventures.
