São Paulo Design Weekend 2013

From 15-18 August 2013 the second edition of the São Paulo Design Weekend DW! takes place, the largest Latin American design festival.

The DW! is an urban design festival, with hundreds of independent and simultaneous events integrated in an "Official Programme". The festival was created to promote design and its connections with art, arquitecture, urbanism, decoration, social inclusion, added value, business and innovation.

Inspired by the Milano Design Week and London Design Festival, DW! was held for the first time in São Paulo´s city, from August 23 to 26, 2012. The DW! was conceptualized by Lauro Andrade, the director of Summit Promo, curated by Pedro Ariel, director of the Brazilian leading home and design magazine Casa Claudia and had as official media partner, Abril Mídia. 

In 2012 the festival was comprised of a set of more than 360 events, organized and held by dozens of partners and integrated into the Official Programme, publicized by the organizers of the DW!. Public and private activities at DW! were promoted in strategic points of the city of São Paulo, such as museums, galleries, studios, stores, parks, public squares, NGOs, and others.
