Show & Talk: Favela Painting

Every first Tuesday of the month in Show & Talk artists from Amsterdam present their creative work and innovative and projects.

Through Favela Painting Dre Urhahn and Jeroen Koolhaas bring art to unexpected places: Rio de Janeiro's favelas. Together with young residents they paint artworks as big as neighbourhoods.

After five years their 'grassroots' work has even reached the elitist museums. This month they're in New York and Miami.

Remko de Jong, chairman of their foundation (Firmeza Foundation), will speak about the reverse of their success, now that the favelas will be 'cleaned' for the Olympics in 2016.
