Drents Archief

The Drenthe Archive merged on 1 July 2005 with the Municipal Archives of Assen to form a joint arrangement. The Drenthe Archive has around 30 staff, part of which is permanently employed and a part is employed as a seconded employee. In addition, the workforce is strengthened with more than fifty volunteers. Half of this is deployed in the 'back office'; Thanks to their efforts, the Drenthe Archive can realize its ambitions in the field of the digitization of archive resources. The other half of the volunteers support with public tasks in the digi lounge, the studio or when receiving school classes.
