The Jakarta Arts Council or better known as, Dewan Kesenian Jakarta (DKJ) is an autonomous body endorsed and funded by the province of Jakarta whose role is to formulate policies for supporting and developing cultural activities in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. Supported by funds from the province of Jakarta, it plays a significant role in fostering creativity through presenting quality work of arts to the public and arranging talks and discussions on cultural issues at the Jakarta Cultural Center. As an umbrella for cultural activities in Jakarta, this institution works in strong partnership with the Governor of Jakarta to nurture the arts and build the audience between the art communities and the people of Jakarta. DKJ consists of 25 members and divided into 6 committees: Film, Music, Literature, Fine Arts, Dance and Drama.
