Jacomine Hendrikse, Advisor for Europe + Heritage, European Heritage Label, Spain & Italy

As advisor at DutchCulture, I support heritage cooperation between the Kingdom of the Netherlands and Europe by giving advice and providing funding for travel and support. For Spain and Italy, I work together with the embassies to support all cultural collaborations. For the European Heritage Label, an initiative of the European Commission, I am contact person and in charge of communication and the nomination procedure for the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Besides my job, I am board member of Platform Klimaat en Erfgoed. In the heritage sector, as in all aspects of life, we should change towards more sustainable and equal ways of working, preserving and thinking.

I have a background in history, specializing in the role of culture and heritage in European nation-building. Prior to working at DutchCulture, I worked at the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum. I co-founded and was a board member of Erfgoed Jong, a Dutch nationwide network of people aged 16-30 who are interested in heritage.
