Minke van Schaik, Advisor Focal Countries

I work as advisor for cultural cooperation between the Netherlands and the 23 focal countries of the current Dutch international cultural policy. As a recent graduate in MA Comparative Cultural Analysis at the University of Amsterdam, I am fascinated by intercultural dialogues and cultural exchange. Enabling international cultural cooperation is what drives my work at DutchCulture’s Focal Countries Desk.

I am specifically fascinated by contemporary art, and how it can offer an original angle on a particular issue. When not at work, I can often be found in museums, galleries, cinemas and theatres. I frequently report on these explorations, most often for the contemporary art magazine, Metropolis M.
