Arthur van Dijk, Chairman - King's Commissioner in the province of Noord-Holland
I have served as the King’s Commissioner in the province of Noord-Holland since 2019. The King’s Commissioner acts as the chairman of both the Provincial Council and the Provincial Executive. I am also the chair of DutchCulture’s Supervisory Board.
I was born in Dordrecht, am married, and have three daughters. After studying Tax Law at Leiden University, I held various jobs at the ministries of Finance and Justice, among others in tracking tax offences. After that, I was an alderman in the municipality of Haarlemmermeer, where my portfolio included Schiphol Airport. From 2013 to 2018, I was President of the Dutch Association for Transport and Logistics.
