Bayburt (0458)

Bayburt was once an important center on the ancient Silk Road and it was visited by Marco Polo and Evliya Celebi. Even though it is now a relatively small town, the new Baksı Museum (Bayburt’s Museum of Modern Arts) is quite a striking building and is interesting.

Bayburt University (BU) is a public research university. Instruction at BU is in Turkish.
