Blue and Green Heritage

At present one cannot speak of a “cultural heritage movement” in Turkey yet. On the other hand there is a quite well organized and active environmental movement. These environmental NGOs and other initiatives have been fighting against soil erosion, forestation, loss of wetland, the extinction of species, and against the pollution of seas. These environmental NGOs are in close contact with cultural heritage NGOs, since many of the environmental areas concerned are also rich in their cultural heritage. There have been campaigns which show collaboration between the NGOs, which results in working on developments in two different fields.
