Cultural Heritage Desk part of Mutual Cultural Heritage policy 2013-2016

Cultural Heritage Desk part of Mutual Cultural Heritage policy 2013-2016

The Dutch government has renewed its Mutual Cultural Heritage policy. During the new term the Cultural Heritage Desk takes on an executive role. Together with the National Archives of the Netherlands, the Cultural Heritage Agency of the Netherlands and ten selected Dutch embassies, we will implement the Mutual Cultural Heritage policy. You can download the new policy framework here.

Our main goal is to increase coherence and visibility of mutual heritage activities. This goal will be achieved through digital information services such as a newsletter and the mutual heritage database Cultural Heritage Connections, by inviting foreign heritage professionals to the Netherlands and by the installment of a programme council that will advise and support the desk in the distribution of matching funds for Dutch organizations.

The National Archives and the Cultural Heritage Agency are finalizing their multiannual mutual heritage programmes. We will publish the highlights of these programmes in our next newsletter. The mutual cultural heritage policy is a shared responsibility of the ministry of Education, Culture and Science and the ministry of Foreign Affairs.
