Europe for Citizens

Europe for Citizens

Europe for Citizens has merged and is now called Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values

Europe for Citizens was the European Union's funding programme to support cooperation projects by citizens, local governments and civil society organisations in the EU. From 2014-2020, 185 million euro was available to support European projects where citizens meet, discuss the future of Europe and remember the (recent) turbulent past of the EU.

The Europe for Citizens Point NL promoted awareness and understanding of the programme, and provided free advice and support for applicants from the Netherlands. Every participating country has such a contact point. See the list for current contact points: Europe for Citizens contact points | European Commission (europa.eu).

Since 1st January 2021, the Europe for Citizens has merged with the Rights, Equality and Citizenship (REC) programme and is now called Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) under the Rights & Values programme. You can find the work programme for 2021/2022 here.

DutchCulture no longer hosts the Europe for Citizens or the new CERV programme. For assistance and more information about the new CERV programme, we refer you to the Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations, the department of Constitutional Affairs and Rule of Law .

To celebrate the achievements of the Dutch organisations who have applied to the Europe for Citizens programme, we have made a publication showing the results of the past years.
