Bedri Ayseli in Turku Bar

Contemporary folk music in a café with tasty snacks, mainly mezze – that's the concept of the Türkü Bar, which has been extremely popular in Istanbul for years. Turkey Now 2010 featured some Türkü Bar concerts and this will be continued in 2012 with Bedri Ayseli, a singer from Diyarbakir in Turkey's South East. He has released a great number of albums, cassettes and CD's. Since some years besides his other musical activities he has been employed by the Turkish Ministry of Culture and he performs at festivals throughout Turkey. With his contemporary interpretations of Anatolian music he infuses the diverse music of Turkey with a fresh new sound.
