Date(s)
Monday 10 - Wednesday 12 August 2015

On 12 August, together with the Fundação Getulio Vargas (FGV), we are organising the seminar ‘Brazil-Netherlands Exchange on Managing Public Cultural Spaces’ in Rio de Janeiro. The theme of the seminar is the exchange of knowledge and cooperation between the Netherlands and Brazil in the area of cultural management and museums.

Topics discussed during the seminar include programming and entrepreneurship, public outreach and relations with the government. The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam, NEMO and Eye Film Institute will be staging presentations together with their Brazilian partners. Giep Hagoort, professor emeritus of art and economy at the HKU University of the Arts Utrecht, is keynote speaker.

Prior to the seminar, there will be a two-day workshop in which four Dutch art management students work with from four to six Brazilian MBA and museology students on challenging, internationally oriented assignments. The results of the workshop will be presented during the seminar.
