Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC countries) meeting
The growing and self-confident role played by Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) on the world stage is creating opportunities for cultural entrepreneurs. Are you looking for inspiring stories from your colleagues and advice from experts? Come to the meeting BRIC & Business: Successful Cultural Collaboration on Monday 15 December.
Cultural collaboration with the BRIC countries requires careful preparation. The country specialists at DutchCulture receive questions every day about financing, contacts, locations and regulations. Political relations and the extent to which they affect the cultural sector is also a recurring point of concern for many artists and cultural entrepreneurs with international ambitions. While the differences between the BRIC countries are great, there are also clear similarities.
Programme
In rounds of 15 minutes, four organisations present the challenges and successes they have met when working in the BRIC countries. The speakers are: Femke van der Valk, manager Department of Trade of the World Press Photo; Titia Vellenga, Global Board Representative of TEFAF Maastricht and PAN Amsterdam; Arjan Verdooren, coach Cultural Diversity at the Royal Tropical Institute and Markus Appenzeller, director and partner of MLA+.
