Brazilian concert Forró de Rebeca in Utrecht

Forró de Rebeca is the result of travels and meetings. Jonathan "Matuto" da Silva, Jean-Luc Frappa and Stefane "Pai Veio" Moulin met each other in Lyon, France. The trio went to the rural Northeast of Brazil and has traveled there to participate in the many forró festivities. At the basis of the ever innovative forró are interpretations of 19th century European dances. The trio plays traditional rebeca (fiddle), accordion, zabumba (drums) and triangle, but at the same time makes a translation to the contemporary, urban audience with a dash of Brazilian joie de vivre! Their latest album Na Roda, is a collaboration with cosmopolitan DJ Tudo.
