Chinese Connection - A Musical Exchange with China

A wonderful concert where conservatory teachers and students from Utrecht and Guangzhou will perform together after workshop and masterclass.

On 10 August a wonderful concert will be organised in Splendor Amsterdam where Conservatory teachers Egbert Jan Louwerse (flute), Johan van der Linden (saxophone) and Henry Kelder (piano) play together with Chinese Conservatory teachers and their students.

Yuan Yuan Liao (flute), Hui Ye (piano), Ning Zhang (piano) and their students of the classical Department of Xinghai Conservatory of Music , together with Johan van der Linden (saxophones), Egbert Jan Louwerse (flute) and Henry Kelder (piano) will be exploring the ' Chinese Connection '. Improvisations and composed Chinese and Dutch music are the ingredients.

During the day the teachers and students will follow workshops and masterclasses in the Conservatory of Utrecht. The whole is jointly organised by MatchingArts (an international cultural production office in Amersfoort) and Sky Culture (a cultural production office from Foshan, Guangdong).
