Diyarbakir/Turkey Tour ZHdK Strings

The ZHdK Strings is a young and dynamic ensemble with 15 to 18 of the best
students from concert and soloists classes of the distinguished Zurich
University of the Arts ‘ZHdK’ in Switzerland, founded by Dutch Professor Rudolf Koelman.

Each year the ZHdK Strings present one of the graduated students in their
own home countries. This year the platform will be given to violinist Brusk
Zanganeh (ZHdK Soloist Diploma June 2012), who will play a special work by
composer Adam Skoumal ‘Shalik’ (scarf) for violin and strings and the Bach
Double Concerto with his Professor Rudolf Koelman.

The tour is an important tool to exchange cultural heritage and educational
knowledge, which is considered as an indispensable experience and value for
the students of the University of Arts in Zurich, ZHdK.

From 4-9 May, 2013 four concerts are scheduled in Diyarbakir:

  • May 5 - The Municipality Theatre Hall, 8 pm
  • May 6 - Surp Giragos Church, 8 pm
  • May 7 - University Hall, 8 pm
  • May 8 - Kent Terası, 8 pm

  • Edvard Grieg – Holberg Suite
  • Bach - Concerto for two Violins BWV 1043 (Soloists: Rudolf Koelman & Brusk Zanganeh)
  • Skoumal -‘Shalik’ for Violin and Strings  (Soloist: Brusk Zanganeh)
  • Bach - Air from the Suite Nr. 3
  • Brahms - Hungarian Dance N° 5 (arrangements for strings)
  • Skoumal- Kurdish folksongs (arrangements for strings)

 

Part of the educational program is a Masterclass given by 5 students from
the ZHdK Strings at students of the Conservatory of Diyarbakir.
Professor Koelman will give 2 Masterclasses as well. Aim is to exchange
knowledge and to get to know different cultures. The Strings itself have 13
