Festival on Wheels 2014 - Ankara

Cinema in Ottoman Times, one of the special sections at this year’s Festival on Wheels, brings to light material from various archiveswhich was shot on Ottoman territory by different filmmakers between 1896 and 1922.Curated by Elif Röngen-Kaynakçı of the EYE Film Museum in Amsterdam, the films offer a huge diversity of insights into the period, ranging from tourist-guide scenery shots to ethnographic observation.
