International visitors: Deniz Ova and Meredith Carruthers - Istanbul Design Biennial

DutchCulture welcomes two visitors in the framework of the International Visitors’ Programme.
Date(s)

From 17 to 21 March, Deniz Ova, director and Meredith Carruthers, associate curator, of the Istanbul Design Biennial are visiting the Netherlands. They will meet Dutch designers and organisations. Main goals of their visit are gaining information on developments in the field of Duth design and exploring possibilities for future cooperation. This visitors' programme is co-organised with Het Nieuwe Instituut.

This year's Istanbul Design Biennial will be the second edition and will be held between 18 October-14 December 2014. The title of the biennial, The Future Is Not What It Used To Be, was announced by curator Zoë Ryan. The biennial invited designers to rethink the manifesto, harnessing this powerful and fertile genre as a platform for reconsidering where we have come from, where we are, and where we are going.

On Wednesday 19 March, Deniz Ova and Meredith Carruthers are participating in the public meeting in Design Academy in Eindhoven: Design and Innovation in Turkey
