Amsterdam's Frascati Theatre presents 'Listening to Third Grandmother's Stories,' a dance and theatre production by Chinese choreographer Wen Hui.

Inspired by conversations with her elderly great aunt, Chinese choreographer Wen Hui brings taboo issues like sex, freedom of speech and the powerful reign of Communism to the stage.

Hui conveys her "third grandmother’s" first hand experiences living through Mao’s Cultural Revolution, and other social upheavals in the last century.

The two women reconstruct the turbulent history of women in China. Together with Beijing's Living Dance Studio, Hui presents Chinese social taboos through dance, text and film.
