South Korea Meeting
Asia is playing an increasingly large role in the international art scene and there is a lot going on in South Korea at the moment. Please join us to hear about recent cultural developments in South Korea, and to find out what opportunities there may be for you or your organisation. This meeting will look at a number of different sectors, including fine art, music and the creative industries.
Programme
The following speakers will contribute to the programme: Seong Hee Kim, the artistic director of the Asian Arts Theatre at the Asian Culture Complex in Gwangju, Samira Boon, designer and owner of Studio Samira Boon, Rob Knijn, artist and artistic leader of Heden, film journalist Peter van Bueren and the also in Korea hugely popular singer/songwriter Wouter Hamel.
A representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs gives a brief introduction to the current political and cultural climate in South Korea and, in a broader perspective, Asia.
This meeting has been made possible in cooperation with the Mondriaan Fund and the Creative Industries Fund NL. The Mondriaan Fund recently organised a trip to South Korea and Japan for artists and other art professionals. This trip was documented daily on a special blog.
