Spectacular Opening of Brasil Festival

On Monday 3 October 2011, at 18:45hrs,  AkzoNobel organizes - in collaboration with the Concertgebouw - the spectacular opening of the Brasil Festival Amsterdam.

This evening the world's largest paint company celebrates the power of color with a Rio-style carnival parade through the Van Baerlestraat. The parade, with drummers, capoeira dancers, floats, carnival costumes and lighting effects, ends on the Museumplein. There the floats and performers will gather at Brazilian "Sambadrome", created by Brazilian designer Ronaldo Fraga, in collaboration with AkzoNobel Art Foundation.

The festivities reach their climax during the official opening, which will be carried out by Princess Máxima, followed by an overwhelming show of music, dance and fireworks.

The parade will be followed by the opening concert of the Assad Family in the Grote Zaal of the Concertgebouw at 20:15hrs.
