Symposium - Troy: New Perspectives on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage in Turkey
A two day International Symposium: a platform for further analysis on the notion of cultural heritage in Turkey and the archaeology of Troy.
Both days will have a distinct focus: the first day will be on Cultural Heritage with internationally renowned speakers including Prof. Dr. Edhem Eldem, Department of History, Boğaziçi University, Prof. Dr. Zeynep Celik, Department of Architecture, New Jersey Institute of Technology and Dr. Wendy Shaw, Department of World Art History, University of Bern. The second day will focus on Archaeology with the theme of Troy Paradox with speakers like Dr. Rüstem Aslan, Department of Archaeology, Çanakkale 18 Mart University and Dr. Peter Jablonka, Troia Projekt University of Tübingen.
The symposium will take place in the Allard Pierson Museum and is a joint effort of Allard Pierson Museum, Sezer Tansuĝ Art Foundation and the Netherlands Institute in Turkey.
