In the midst of the financial crisis Brazil is booming. The economic growth of the country is almost 10% annually. Besides that, most of the Dutch still see the country as a tropical paradise, a country that has everything Holland is not: Temperamental, dangerous and sensual. Think of the violent favelas, steaming carnaval and the typical Brazilian temperament.

But what is really going on in this new giant? How much is true of all those clichés? As part of the Brasil Festival de Balie highlights the pros and cons of modern Brazil going beyong the stereotypes. Different speakers of both Brazil and the Netherlands.
