First Dutch Book about Bağlama
In the Turkish culture the bağlama has a very important place. It forms the basis for all folkmusic ensembles and orchestras and is a very popular instrument in the arabesq, amusement and pop music genres. It is also the instrument used in the Turkish music education and in religious rituals for Alevis. In his book ‘De Turkse Langhalsluit of Baglama’, Hans de Zeeuw describes the cultural historical origin and development of the instrument, related instruments, way of building, and the role of the baglama in Turkish folk music and in Turkish labour migration. The book also contains a CD with examples of different styles.
