deBuren: Writer's residency in Paris

deBuren: Writer's residency in Paris

deBuren: Schrijfresidentie Parijs
Talent development program for young creators whose work revolves around the Dutch-language spoken or written word

In 2004, the Flemish and Dutch governments jointly established the Flemish-Dutch House deBuren as a cultural organisation and a space for debate and reflection. Based in the heart of Brussels, deBuren promotes cultural and social collaboration and exchange between Flanders and the Netherlands by presenting, producing, inspiring, and connecting.

Since 2012, deBuren has taken a group of young, talented writers (aged 18-30) to Paris every summer to explore each other's work and ideas beyond borders, create new material, and engage in discussions with guest speakers from the literary and media fields. Before, during, and after the residency, the participants refine their work with an editor.

In 2025, the residency will take place from July 17 to July 31 at Fondation Biermans-Lapôtre in Paris. Meetings before and after the residency will be held in Brussels, Amsterdam, and/or other Flemish or Dutch cities.
