Performing Arts Fund NL: Grant for Dutch performances or concerts abroad (fastlane)
The Performing Arts Fund is the cultural fund for music, theater, music theater, dance, and festivals in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is one of the 6 the national funds for culture. On behalf of the Dutch government, the Fund provides support to all forms of professional performing arts in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, Sint-Eustatius, Sint-Maarten).
This grant is for performers and composers from the Kingdom of the Netherlands who want to peform abroad (outside the Kingdom of the Netherlands). The subsidy is mainly intended for relatively simple projects with a short preparation time and therefore has an expedited procedure.
There are two types of grants available:
- Grant for groups, bands, ensembles, big bands, singer-songwriters, performers, performing composers, or DJs giving performances or concerts abroad;
- Grant for composers, playwrights, librettists, or choreographers who are invited to attend a performance of their own work abroad, performed by others. In this case, the composer, playwright, librettist, or choreographer is not directly involved in the performance or concert.
- A group or performer (foundation, association, or private limited company) that has given at least 10 performances or concerts in relevant Dutch venues and festivals in the 18 months prior to the application;
- Composers, playwrights, librettists, or choreographers invited to attend a performance of their own work abroad.

Accommodation costs and stays are not eligible.
Never more than the total of reasonably necessary travel, transport, and visa costs.
- A maximum of €6,000 for performing within Europe;
- A maximun of €10,000 outside Europe;
- A maximum of €3,000 for attending performances or concerts as a composer, playwright, librettist, or choreographer.
The performances or concerts abroad must
- take place consecutively, in a series of at least three performances or concerts;
- be confirmed by the relevant foreign venues or festivals;
- take place at venues or festivals that provide relevant programming considering the context in which they operate.
For attending performances or concerts, the composer, playwright, librettist, or choreographer must
- be invited by the foreign organization to attend a performance of one or more works created by him/her at a time before the application is submitted;
- not be directly involved in the performance or concert;
- gives a lecture or workshop or is involved in at least one other additional activity requiring his/her presence.
