Performing Arts Fund NL: Grant for international co-productions
The Performing Arts Fund is the cultural fund for music, theater, music theater, dance, and festivals in the Kingdom of the Netherlands. It is one of the 6 the national funds for culture. On behalf of the Dutch government, the Fund provides support to all forms of professional performing arts in the Netherlands and the Caribbean part of the Kingdom (Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, Saba, Sint-Eustatius, Sint-Maarten).
This grant aims to facilitate international co-productions and to contribute to the internationalisation and professionalisation of the Dutch performing arts sector. The goal is to stimulate international quality and diversity in the performing arts in the Kingdom of the Netherlands and to contribute to building and reaching an audience for this.
Producing organisations (music theatre, theatre, dance company or ensemble) or festivals based in the Kingdom of the Netherlands that engage in a collaboration with a professional organisation abroad, in order to jointly develop and produce a performance or concert.
Not eligible are
- venues and intermediaries (such as booking offices);
- recipients of institutional subsidy offered by the Minister of Education, Culture and Science (OCW).
- Personnel, preparation and implementation costs;
- Marketing and publication costs.
Non-eligible costs:
- Activities that have already been realised at the time of the application submission will not be supported. Structural investments, such as costs pertaining to business operations, investments in accommodation or the purchase of instruments, will also not be supported.
A maximum of € 75,000
Conditions:
- Makers have been active for at least two years and have multiple productions to their name;
- There is a healthy balance between the artistic and financial input of the parties involved;
- The results must contribute to the development of the performing arts practice in the Kingdom of the Netherlands;
- At least 20% of the costs to be subsidised should be covered by direct income;
Applications are assessed with reference to the following criteria:
- Artistic quality;
- Entrepreneurship;
- Contribution to international cultural policy;
- Contribution to the diversity of the performing arts in the Netherlands.
