Introduction new Migration policy postponed

The Minister for Immigration and Asylum Policy Gerd Leers has notified the Lower House by letter that the Modern Migration Policy (MoMi) Act cannot enter into force on 1 January 2011. This is due to delay in the implementation of a new computer system of the Immigration and Naturalisation Service (IND). This new computer system is a prerequisite for the introduction of MoMi. 

On which date the new Act will enter into force is not known yet at this time.
