Kurdish Theater

Kurdish Theater is a new term in the history of theater in Turkey. With the alternative and contemporary plays in Turkey, theater has gained a different face and within this contemporary frame Kurdish Theater has also gained a ground recently and they have started to produce their own plays, becoming legitimized through recognition by government funds, taking part in media and performing on main stages in Turkey. The plays are predominantly produced in Kurdish, dealing with identity and minority politics.
