The Dutch Centre for Folk Culture and Intangible Heritage contributes to the conservation and promotion of the folk culture and intangible cultural heritage. The centre has an advisory role for governments, stimulates debates and provides support for organizations working in the field of folk culture and intangible cultural heritage. Furthermore, the centre safeguards the UNESCO Convention on Intangible Cultural Heritage within The Netherlands, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science.
