Mapping Netherlands: Literature - Advocacy

The Dutch Association of Writers and Translators is the umbrella organization covering three departments: the Dutch society of authors, the Network of Screenwriters (film, television, and new media) and the FreeLancers Association (freelance journalists and contributors to newspapers etc.). The association serves both the individual and the collective interests of authors.

The Authors' Union is the Dutch professional organization for everyone who lives from his pen. They stand up for a healthy income position for writers and translators, offer business support and provide individual (contract) advice. They have been doing this for over 100 years. They also organize symposia, workshops and masterclasses. Members meet during drinks and exchange ideas.

Schrijvers School Samenleving (SSS)

The Stichting Schrijvers School Samenleving advocates, supports and advises authors and poets in the organization of lectures. The foundation mediates between authors and schools, libraries, cultural venues, companies and other organizations. The mission is always to promote reading and literature.
