In this section I will discuss relatively traditional media. Newspapers, radio and TV reach massive audiences to whom they speak with the authority of the state. Award ceremonies and universities command a similar level of respect and influence.
Despite this power, most of these institution are unlikely partners. Read this to learn how they shape the environment for China’s music industry, for instance through music awards and televised talent shows.
Additionally, I mention a number of companies that are more approachable, for instance in the realm of (online) music reviews and promotors of university tours.
