Music companies developed out of what used to be called ‘record companies’ to include management, booking, ticketing and recently also IT services. Some of the companies in the previous section on “New Media” have developed into the same direction. Still, these companies are more clearly committed to facilitating the production of music.

Therefore, if you are a musician or music company interested in entering the Chinese market you will want to talk to the companies discussed in this section. They are also typically overworked and understaffed.
