Museums

The number of places where photographic works are exhibited is increasing in the big cities of Turkey. The most eminent ones are in Istanbul. Amongst these exhibition areas, the Istanbul Museum of Modern Art is the sole museum which possesses both a photographic archive and a gallery. Other art museums in Istanbul such as Pera Museum and Vedat Nedim Tör Museum (associated to Yapı Kredi Culture and Arts Publishing) regularly host photographic exhibitions of local and international photographers. Besides some exhibitions by Istanbul Museum of Modern Art, many of the museum exhibitions are about the works of foreign photographers.
