New at SICA: Visitors' programme Cultural Heritage

New at SICA: Visitors' programme Cultural Heritage

In September 2011, the Netherlands Institute for Heritage transferred its visitors' programme for professionals in the field of cultural heritage to SICA. This transfer followed upon the announcement that the ministry for Culture is going to stop its financial contribution to this institute from 2013.

For several years, SICA has coordinated a sector wide programme for visitors who are active in several cultural sectors or cultural umbrella organisations. This programme has now been joined by a specific programme for the entire heritage field.

The Cultural Heritage visitors’ programme should contribute to the international cooperation between Dutch and European heritage organisations. Furthermore, the programme has a focus on the cooperation with countries that have a shared history with the Netherlands (mutual cultural heritage).

SICA will organise another 10 heritage visits in 2011 and 28 visits in 2012. SICA’s general visitors’ programme has an annual budget for 15 visits.
