Artist-in-Residence open calls | Summer 2014 edition

Over the summer, quite a few artist-in-residence programmes are open for applications. In need for an overview ? Have a look at the TransArtists listing.

Here are the open calls in the Netherlands that were added recently to the TransArtists website (but there are more in the TransArtists database). There are other open calls in Germany, Spain, Italy, Mexico, Iceland, Japan, UK, China, Argentina and Austria in the article on TransArtists.org

Kunsthuis SYB. Deadline: 15 August.
A summer residency (in 2015) at SYB provides art initiatives and artists based outside the Netherlands an opportunity to do a project about the Frisan landscape and/or to engage with the village community. Read more

BijlmAiR. Application deadline: 1 September
Each year, young international artists can apply for a period to live and work in the BijlmAIR studio in Amsterdam Southeast. During their residency they create works that somehow reflect on the intercultural area of Amsterdam Southeast. Artists are selected by a committee. Van Eyck Academy. Application period will start in July and ends on 1 October.
The Van Eyck invites artists, designers, photographers, architects, curators, writers, and thinkers to apply for a work period at the Jan van Eyck Academie for 4 up to 12 months. Participants are given the time and space that is needed to develop their talents, to discover as yet unexplored perspectives and delve into deeper layers of themselves. Read more.
