Dutch Delight Music Program in Istanbul, Ankara and Eskisehir.

In collaboration with the acclaimed Istanbul music venues Babylon, Akbank Jazz Festival, Ghetto and Borusan Music House this year’s autumn is filled with Dutch music, especially Dutch jazz. From September through December more than twenty different Dutch music acts will perform at these and other Istanbul venues.  Many of these acts will also travel to other cities such as Ankara, Eskisehir. 

As part of ‘Dutch Music Month’ jazz & contemporary music acts such as Jasper Blom, Yuri Honing, Meliha Dogoduyal, Saskia Laroo, Ralph van Raat and Artvark will perform at Borusan (and beyond) in the period November 16 – December 19.  In December two more music events will take place in Istanbul: the dance/electronic music extravaganza of ‘Chickz with Skillz’ at club The Hall (December 8). This all female dance concept breakdown the  formerly male dominated dj scene. Furthermore, two concerts by the internationally successful young world music ensemble Jungle by Night (end of December).

In September and October acts such as Amsterdam Klezmer Band, The Ex, Giovanca, Guus Janssen & Oguz Buyukberber, Michael Borstlap, Rembrandt Frerichs Trio, Talking Cows, DJ Maestro, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble and Barana performed in Istanbul and beyond.  Also two nights filled with many Dutch DJ’s and VJ’s took place at two popular clubs in Istanbul, with “Pink Amsterdam” at The Hall and “Plastic Dreams XL” at Indigo.  In October also a large Turkish delegation of programmers & bookers attended the Dutch Jazz & World Meeting 2012 and prospects look good for continued Dutch music programming in 2013.
