DutchCulture and the British Council sign a Memorandum of Understanding for further collaboration
In 2024, more than 1200 activities by Dutch artists and creative professionals took place in the UK, making it one of the top destinations for Dutch makers. These activities took place across 175 cities in England, Scotland, Northern Ireland, and Wales.
The collaboration between the British Council and DutchCulture will see an increase in information and guidance for UK and Dutch artists and cultural professionals to help them navigate mobility between the UK and the Netherlands. The information will include highlighting different regional areas in the UK and the Netherlands and it will ensure that opportunities for collaboration across both countries are available.
Speaking at the signing of the agreement, British Council Country Director, Jennifer Cosgrave said:
“We are delighted to be working with our sister organisation, DutchCulture, to build on our many years of collaboration by launching this three-year project. Ensuring young people and a new generation of artists have the skills and information needed to collaborate is the bedrock of building understanding and trust.”
Commenting on the agreement, Director for DutchCulture, Kristen van den Hul added:
“The UK and the Netherlands remain strong partners in international cultural cooperation. As DutchCulture we are committed to ensuring artists and creative professionals can access the information and skills they need for international collaboration. This agreement with the British Council will allow us to bring together our skills to deliver meaningful change for a new generation of artists.”
