Final round of Shared Cultural Heritage Matching Fund

Five new projects that will receive a contribution from the Shared Cultural Heritage Matching Fund have been announced.

The Matching Fund supports projects that contribute to a greater awareness of shared cultural heritage. The results of the final round of the Shared Cultural Heritage Matching Fund for the 2013-2016 period have been announced.   At the end of the year, DutchCulture will inform you about possibilities for applying to the Matching Fund for the 2017-2020 period.

These are the last projects to receive funding in 2016:

Herlevend Deshima (A Reinvigorated Deshima) – The reconstruction of Deshima is almost complete. This project investigates Deshima’s significance for the inhabitants of Nagasaki and publishes the results through Dutch and Japanese media.

Tawang Station – As the follow-up to a workshop held in 2014, Dutch and Indonesian architects work on a plan for the revitalisation of the historic station area in Semarang.

Tasmanian Maritime Heritage – Shared history is central during the upcoming Australian Wooden Boat Festival with a maritime-cultural programme put together by institutes from the northern part of the Netherlands.

Naar Nieuw Amsterdam (Off to New Amsterdam) – The Amsterdam Municipal Archives and the New York City Municipal Archives dig up stories about New Amsterdam from the notarial archives and breathe new life into them through research, digitisation and online publication.

Verhalen in Voorraad (Stocklist of Stories) – Dutch and Surinamese heritage institutes collaborate on an appealing plan to recover the oral history of historical places in Surinam during a five-day workshop.
