Looking back on: Europe on the cultural map

Jelle Burggraaff: "During this evening, that we organised in collaboration with Pakhuis de Zwijger, we explored how existing models can give new momentum to the idea of a European Culture Pass.

My contribution was painting the bigger picture about how DutchCulture supports the cultural sector in working internationally. This includes the important role that Creative Europe plays in connecting the cultural sector across Europe, and how we successfully support the cultural sector in the Netherlands in acquiring funding.

Anastasija Efremovska from Cineville, a Dutch beneficiary organization of the Creative Europe programme, was also present and demonstrated how subscription models make culture accessible, strengthen audience engagement, and stimulate cooperation between cultural institutions, also accross borders now during these summer months. Other interesting insights were given by Vera Carasso from the Museumkaart and Walter Groenen from the CJP.

Overall, I am pleased that we contributed to this interesting and meaningful conversation and played our part in concretizing this idealistic scenario with a practical approach and useful tools.
