NEDxPO2018: cultural program kicks off in South Korea

An initiative on occasion of winter Olympics 2018 to strengthen ties with South Korea through art and innovation and to showcase Dutch culture on a world stage.

In the spring and summer, a multi-disciplinary cultural program supported by both Dutch and South Korean partners will unveil with a sequence of events in Seoul, the capital city of South Korea, and partly also in the Netherlands.

NEDxPO2018
Named NEDxPO2018, the program is an initiative from the Netherlands on the occasion of the Olympic & Paralympic Winter Games in PyeongChang, South Korea (February-March 2018), aiming to strengthen ties between the two countries through art and innovation, and to showcase Dutch culture on a world stage.
NEDxPO2018 is the abbreviation of NEDerland (the Netherlands in Dutch) X PyeongChang Olympics 2018, with hints of ‘expo’ (exposition) and ‘next’ (indicating a future prospect and innovation).

- Still/Life: Dutch Contemporary Photography Exhibition (Korea Foundation Gallery, April-May 2018)

- Symposium: From Vertical to Horizontal: The Changed Conditions of Art Production (National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art, Seoul, May 2018)

- Research project “Dutch Placemaking Alternatives” (University of Seoul, Department of Urban Planning and Design / Urban Transformer)

- Itinerant exhibition “Eurasian Steps – From Amsterdam to Seoul via Athens” (Nam June Paik Memorial Museum, Audio Visual Pavilion et al. June 2018)

NEDxPO2018 is organized by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Korea, together with the Mondriaan Fund, Creative Industries Fund NL, and powered by DutchCulture.
