Planeur rock band releases debut album
Planeur, the rock band formed by musician Onur Ataman and vocalist Serkan Modalı, released their debut studio album, Gelecek (Future), on the music label Avrupa Music.
Ataman is one of the finest jazz guitarists in Turkey. He was the first-ever Turkish student to enroll in the Netherlands’ Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where he earned his bachelors and masters degree in jazz guitar.
Ataman’s several jazz performances in Istanbul, together with various Dutch musicians such as Eric Vloeimans and Dick de Graaf, were supported by the Consulate General of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in previous years.
With this debut album of Planeur, a different direction was taken into the rock ‘n roll genre. The duo was joined in the album’s recording sessions by Dutch drummer Ed Warby, best known as the drummer for the metal band Gorefest and the progressive rock act Ayreon.
Planeur’s debut album titled “Gelecek” is now available in all music stores.
