Turkey at Risk - A night about de geopolitics of Turkey
Turkey's foreign policy is often discussed in terms of Turkey as a model, axis or empire. How valid are these concepts for Turkey's near future in the region and the wider international arena?
Together with our expert guests we wil discuss the applicability of these three concepts with an eye to 2023, when the Republic of Turkey celebrates its first centenary. How well is Turkey really doing at playing Risk?
Guest speakers are: Niyazi Kizilyürek (political analist, Associate Professor and chair of the Turkish and Middle Eastern Studies Dept. of the University of Cyprus), Cengiz Aktar (professor of Political Science at Bahçesehir University in Istanbul and well-known columnist), Karabekir Akkoyunlu (PhD candidate at London School of Economics and Research Associate at Oxford University, specialised in the politics of the Middle East) and Emine Bozkurt (Europarliamentarian PvdA).
