Open call for Netherlands-based visual storytellers: 'The Future of Nature'

The Dutch foundation Message in a Photo (MIAP) has launched a new open call for Netherlands-based visual artists about the relationship between man and nature.

The private Dutch foundation Message in a Photo (MIAP) was founded eight years ago to help artists and photographers create new work on social themes. In the coming years, MIAP will center its activities around the theme 'Future of Nature' or the relationship between man and nature. Netherlands-based visual storytellers are invited to apply for the new open call 'Future of Nature' to receive a MIAP grant. The deadline to apply is 1 September 2021.

Open call MIAP grant 'Future of Nature'

MIAP is seeking new, innovative and intuitive approaches towards nature and our behavior around our natural world. To do this we can not only rely on science, business and politics. We need imagination to help us visualise different perspectives on how to work with nature instead of against it. That is why five Netherlands-based visual artists will have the opportunity to work on their projects with a work grant and a 6 month program where different experts will help to get to the core of what they want to tell and show.

MIAP will support five visual artists with:

  • €3.000 work grant.
  • 6 month development program with different experts.
  • collective online workspace with your fellow grantees.
  • connecting your project to different platforms and the possibility of getting it produced.
