Political Theater

In line with history of Turkey which had seen many coup d’etats in the last century there has been another category of theatre which relies on expressing one’s political views through theatre; Political Theatre. This kind of theatre flourished through following Bertolt Brecht in Germany or Augusto Boal in Brazil inspiring theater directors and playwrights in Turkey. The dilemma of doing political theatre which also meant that theatre could serve an aim like making a revolution, changing the world or at least proposing a betterment of the current problems still exists now in current theatre scene.
